It’s time to greet our CRANKY friends… TK FIBRES!!!!!! Oh yes, they’re cranky all right…as in, they are frequently hosting Crank-ins! Not only are they millers of lovely hanks, stunning skeins and beautiful batts - but they are fascinatingly skilled at CRANKING. They take circular sock knitting machines, new and old (some people have machines over 100 years old at these crank-ins that still work marvellously!) and crank out beautiful sock tubes! I went to one such event and it was mesmerizing. So TK Fibres’ got it all - I highly recommend stopping by and talking to this husband and wife team who mill, spin, crank, dye and more…their fibre arts studio and mill is exceptional…as is their knowledge base and products! This week’s highlight: Fairbank Village BIA’s Mosaic Art Workshop for Kids, hosted by @jennymayinc ! Jenny May Gifford is a local artist who specializes in mosaic art, using tiles as her main medium. She believes that things that are broken can be made whole again and tell a new story, and this shows in every beautiful mosaic piece she comes with ✨ Creativity is an innate trait in kids and Jenny’s beautiful art philosophy is something that can truly help hone their natural artistic abilities and nurture a passion for the arts.
