What a surprise this read turned out to be!
Not only is it relevant to times just been, it also serves as a reminder that there are always two sides to every story…
📖 The Herd
✒️ Emily Edwards
Going into this all I knew was that it had something to do with school mum’s and a little white lie … so I was hooked 😂 (We all know how vicious the school yard can get - whether you’re 5 years old or the mum of a 5 year old!)
In The Herd, you’ll met Elizabeth and Bryony (Bry). Best friends, neighbours, godmothers to each other’s daughters.. and complete opposites.
Elizabeth is ambitious, into politics and is a well respected member of the community.
Bry lives in the moment, wants to be an artist, hates politics and loves all things bohemian.
They’ve spent so much time together over the years, that they’re certain that at some point in time, they had discussed their stance on vaccines.
When Elizabeth sends out her daughter’s birthday invitation, stipulating that all children attending need to be vaccinated, Bry, scared of being judged and losing their friendship tells a half truth - that has devastating consequences.
A brilliant novel that showcases both sides of the vaccine debate, with care and sensitivity. A book where your own thoughts go out the window, as you are drawn into the heartache of both characters.
So much to discuss, this was the perfect BR book! Check out the tagged accounts for their reviews😍
