I don't know if anyone on my timeline gets into Doom mods/WADs at all, but I just finished one called My House and it was one of the most beautiful, saddest, and scariest things I've ever played
It's a cross between nightmares I've had about my old house, the book House of Leaves, and all those liminal space creepypastas the kids love, with the tiniest pinch of Twin Peaks and the final Evangelion movie thrown in for good measure, along with plenty of inside jokes about Doom lore and the modding community
I wouldn't recommend it for everyone, but if you don't mind inexplicable puzzles, baffling item placement, and existential dread, then you'd probably have a great time with it
None of those were ever words I would associate with a Doom WAD, but now I'm just sad my dad wasn't here to see it
