🚨 Vancouver pastries 🚨 I’m not usually a donut person, like ever tbh, but these HIT SO HARD. I tried the tiramisu and matcha. Never seen myself eat a donut so fast. The filling was not too sweet and the brioche buns were perf. I think the main location is in Chinatown. It was decently busy for a cute little donut shop hidden away. 10/10.

Cookies and cream I feel could have had more flavour to it - for some reason the filling tasted a bit more buttercream-y than c&c to me. The blueberry one I quite liked because of the tiny bit of acidity the cream cheese flavouring added to it (plus I just love cream cheese icings and fillings a lot of the time 😋). My boyfriend did mention though that the blueberry one was quite heavy and he couldn’t have too much of it in one sitting 🍪 We could not finish all the donuts in one day, but even after leaving them overnight, although they weren’t as good as the first day, they definitely still weren’t stale and still very delicious We went to their Arbutus location this time, which has a warm, almost high-school-cafeteria feel to it. The Arbutus location, despite being their second one, seems very comparable if not identical in donut quality to their original shop in Chinatown. Arbutus is a good location for catching up with a friend or casual date, as they have an adequate number of table spaces. I’m happy to see another small local business do well enough in Vancouver to open up a second location. Mello donuts 🍩 they are pricey but so good! @mellovancouver It’s fluffy and creamy I really like their strawberry and cream donut puff. Their donut pastry 🍩 is so pillowy and sugary! I definitely love this kind of dessert! I’ve wanted to try them for a while now and it’s right in Chinatown so if I’m ever in the area this would be my go to. I mean, birthday cake is good, but @mellovancouver donuts might be better. Mello is easily among the best donuts in Vancouver. Wonderfully balanced, just the right amount of chew, and plenty of uniquely delicious flavors. From left to right, that's a lemon curd, cereal milk and tiramisu. I'm very partial to lemon curd, but the crunch and more delicate flavor of the cereal milk is top notch too. The only thing is I can't decide if I like these filled brioche style donuts better or if I like mochi donuts better. Or apple fritters.
