Note: The purpose of this passage, is not to dissuade anyone from learning either through books or through the teachings of other’s, but rather—it is meant to encourage everyone to experience things firsthand for themselves rather than vicariously through other such means, as what you may learn through books or the teachings of other’s—may very well lack in realness, depth, and significance, which may then cause for you to not fully learn or understand why it is so important to help end the many crises that exist throughout the world. For example, you may read in a book that homelessness is a very difficult experience for an individual to overcome, which what you read may then cause for you to experience a mild emotional response to homelessness, yet—to actual go to homeless communities and witness their struggles firsthand, to share in their experience with them as so to gain a deep knowledge of their suffering, and than use that knowledge to help create the necessary solutions to combat the homelessness crisis, are learnings that you cannot attain from a book or a teacher, because they are not the same as your own personal real world experiences that you witness with your own heart, mind, body, and soul. The same goes for reading or being taught about war, as opposed to actually physically going and being part of the humanitarian efforts to help with the crisis of a war; or—reading or being taught about what it is like living in an impoverished community, as opposed to actually living in one.
