A walk in pantry is high on the list of most homeowners renovating their kitchen. It doesn't have to be a HUGE space, just really well thought out. We managed to fit a place for the Thermomix with it's own rangehood in this Pantry along with the toaster, sandwich maker and microwave whilst still having plenty of storage for non-perishables and bowls and platters. Oh and there's also a secret door to the laundry chute. This was the pantry that started it all. It was my first pantry in Sydney. It was ours. I used to get comments about how organised and beautiful it was. Was it easy to set up? Not really. Did I spend hours researching which canisters to use? Absolutely. Then did I spend hours making sure I bought the right amount products, so I didn’t have anything left over? Yep. Did I then love every minute meticulously placing everything in its new home so it was functional and pretty? You bet. Then I thought to myself… maybe I can do this for other mums. Mums who want their pantry to be functional, accessible, easy for the family to maintain. Mums who don’t have the time to do all the research, measuring, setting up an adding the finer details, then potentially returning products that didn’t work, or had too many of. Maybe I could do this for them! Fortsätter med före-/ och efterbild på renoveringen av vårt hus. När vi tog över huset fanns en trång och opraktisk serveringsgång / butlers pantry i anslutning till köket. Vi beslutade att ta bort hela den delen för att få köket mer rymligt. När väggarna (syns tyvärr inte på förebilden) var borta försökte vi istället efterlikna den gamla stilen men med praktiska moderna skåp och en sittbänk som ramar in fönstret fint.

Colour Selections Appointment - ARGUS ACRE How much preparation did you put in before going to your selections appointment? My goal going into the appointment was to make it the least overwhelming for Mason as possible! We had discussed some styles and colours before going in to ensure we were on the same page. I had spent a lot of time on Pinterest and Instagram, searching for inspiration for different areas of the house as well as from magazines like House and Garden and Country Style. I was able to share some of these with the team in advance so we were all on the same page to allow making those decisions so much easier!

I've said this before, and I'll say it again - and organised space is an organised mind. 🥰 In the year that we were building, I took that time to plan our pantry. I wanted the space to be aesthetically pleasing, but also equally (if not more) functional. The second slide will show you exactly where I have placed my food items. This might not be right for everyone, but it does work for us. This area in my pantry is small, yet it's one of the most functional parts of my whole kitchen. Aside from storing many of the ingredients that I use in daily cooking, I get to organise my family's schedule using the planner. It's important to take your time when planning any space in your home. Even if it takes a bit of time - it's worth it! Previously very old and dilapidated, the owners of this Mosman property decided on a full renovation, including a large extension at the back where this lovely kitchen is located. Opting for modern cabinetry that’s a little bit different to the standard, the owners chose a mixture of different finishes and colours in Dulux’s Tranquil Retreat and Polytec’s Natural Oak Ravine veneer, in the palette. The V-groove style polyurethane panels in light grey contrasts nicely with the darker grey and the gorgeous superwhite granite on the benchtop and splashback, which brings the whole look together perfectly. Our old utility room and half garage have now gone. My washing machine and tumble dryer have been relocated upstairs which is the best thing I’ve ever done, makes so much sense being on the same floor as the bedrooms. Instead we created a gym & pantry. The Pantry is now in full use and I’m loving it. I didn’t want one of those pantry’s that are super organised, full of clear boxes with labels and dividers but more of an old fashioned general store, full of all the things we use on a daily basis for cooking. Easily accessible and quick to see what I need to put on my shopping list. This is a small space that has to do and store everything I need but look good too. The #thermomix now has a place in the corner rather than on my kitchen side as it’s not the prettiest appliance although very useful.
