I painted my Black IKEA Billy Bookcases to match my office for a monochromatic look. The only challenges was that the solid wood bookcase that sat between them did not fit in my new home office. I knew I wanted them to look built in and though inspired by so many who have done DIY, I did not have the tools nor the time to make this transformation so I hired an experienced carpenter who completed the job for me. It’s important to know your strengths and your capacity. I would have loved to have been able to this but appreciate the workmanship and attention to detail in achieving the specific look that I requested. It’s now a diamond. We’re excited about the outdoor space we are creating to extend our entertaining space and for our outdoor enjoyment. The fire pit and seated wall is complete. Now to buy outdoor chairs for the other side. My goal is to eventually have a lush backyard. Looking forward to landscaping once the threat of frost is no more. I’m ready!! And the projects just don’t stop. Creating our outdoor living space has me just as nervous as building our home. There have been some modifications -increase in size, miscommunication of elevation, add on steps, back and forth re. Additional center flower bed to break up some of the hardscape, delay in the pizza oven arrival and initial landscaping plans. BUT, we are excited and it’s really coming along. Wanna see? Finally, our guest bathroom is complete. Love love our large polished tile and that we went to the ceiling and hugged the left corner wall. It makes such an elevated statement. Thank you all for loving Reese! I receive comments every now and then about him. He IS as sweet as he looks. I started bringing him to the house during construction and he got used to it. Once we moved in and the very first time we left the house without him, he was confused. We always tell him we’ll be back and that seems to assure him. He’s the best greeter when we get back home! In between he is the chilliest and most loveable Dood!! Don’t mind doing laundry but do have putting away clothes after folding them. Who can relate? Well I do love my soothing laundry room. From the clean clothes smell to the calming color and textured porcelain brick tile flooring now topped with this @ruggable Loving it!! We have great storage spaces here from the closet to the cabinets. I store our candle supply, misc items, extra light bulbs, Reese’s dog food, his travel bag, his snacks and supplies. Still looking for rolling laundry baskets to go under my counters on the right. If you see any send them my way!! Also considered what to do on the empty wall across from my washer/dryer. It’s a blank canvas. Considering wall paper, floating shelves, tile, a large wall hanging. So many options! I’m in no rush! Our 2nd floor guest bathroom is undergoing a renovation only after having completed our custom build less than 90 days ago!! During our design phase our builder was helping us to find ways to cut costs and suggested we do a tub surround in this bathroom. We’re empty nesters and this was a 2nd floor bathroom so we agreed. Immediately after moving in I discovered spider vein cracks on the back of the surround. They called in surface repair professionals who deemed it unrepairable. The cracks were only part of the problem. The wall was also moveable to the touch. All in all cheap materials. I’ve seen surrounds done well so I was very surprised at how this turned out. Needless to say, I explained to my builder that we needed to go with just a tub and tile to the ceiling on the 3 walls. Feels like we never stopped building! Boy oh boy-we love this little Dood! Four (not 3) years ago we picked up this Labradoodle from the breeder and haven’t had a single regret! He’s the best! He has a calm temperament but loves to play tug. He doesn’t love playing alone so after work we can expect him to bring us a toy so we can play with him. He’s obedient (most times) and hardly ever barks. He’s my shadow. He is part human as he gives head tilts when you’re talking to him so you know he’s engaged. He uses his nose to move your hand to signal he wants a rub. I could go on and on. He’s the best! We’re blessed to call him ours! #australianlabradoodle #doodles #reesetherealdeal #labradoodle
