What an honor to take part in the 1st Mountain and Trail World Championships!
This combined four distances that had been independent championships over the past 50 years.
Over 40 countries competed bringing together many of my long time friends and the world’s fiercest competitors. 🌏
I ran the classic up/down race finishing 37th.

Amazing experience to win and set the CR at Broken Arrow 26k! What a weekend!!!
I’m still processing the experience. It has been a rough year overcoming injury and more, so this win really meant a lot! (Thanks @johnnyrunfast and @kurtroeser for getting me to the start line)
Overall, I am so grateful! Amazing course and race organization, great weather, fantastic media coverage and mostly I’m overjoyed to see so many friends.
Broken Arrow draws in so many great athletes, and after getting smoked in the VK, I can only say I am excited for the future of US trail running. 🇺🇸
The 26k was really about running my own race, remaining optimistic, and humble. I knew who was behind me on the descent and I didn’t let up a second.
I really appreciate being able to run with @eli_hemming He is such a strong runner, working together (his climbing and my descending) we were able to pull away from the rest of this stacked field of pro runners.
Thanks for all your support - let’s get this season started!!!

Running XTERRA Trail Run World Champs this Sunday 🦞🗺️
This will be my 5th time running the race. It’s been on O’ahu, it’s been on Maui. And now it’s on the trails around Sugarloaf in Maine!

Just getting my run in at 11,000ft cheering on the Mammoth Trail fest 50k ❄️🌬️
Had such a wonderful weekend racing, cheering, crewing and racing again!
The Trail Team and Salomon community really made this weekend feel special!
Bringing American (+ Canadian and Australian) athletes together was so fun! I don’t think I have laughed as hard in a long time! Between Garrett’s hot spring life, Chris Myer’s enthusiasm, Lara’s puns, bath robes and so much more, I was in tears 😂
Thanks

10th place finish at Mammoth Trail Fest 🦣
Had a great rip on a beautiful cool and windy day around mammoth mountain. Finally felt like myself again (after a long month or two of slogging). Maybe it’s just the downhill 😉

Pikes Peak Ascent
This mountain is special! This was my 8th time racing the mountain: 6th ascent & 2 marathons.
Considering I have often said “this is the hardest race you can possibly do”, why do I keep coming back?
With 7,815 ft of climbing and a top elevation of 14,115 ft, Pikes is really unusual for a mountain race anywhere in the world. Interestingly, the race’s history dates back to at least 1956.
This year, my goals had to be adjusted given my current fitness. After returning from haglund’s surgery on both heels in March, I was hoping to be ready to go in September. But, despite a great, consistent summer of training, I’m just not running uphill super fast yet.
Despite a slower time, what a wonderful year to be part of the race! Watching Rémi break Matt Carpenter’s 30 year old record was fantastic! Racing on snow in sunshine was gorgeous! On top of that, encouraging so many new trail runners on the Trail Team and competing against old friends was uplifting.
Thank you Pikes and onward toward another year ☀️

🏔️Got the W today at Tour du Roc 26k 🇨🇭🧀
The Trail du Besso races are beautiful, steep, well organized and fun!
I saw the 50k had over 17,000 ft of gain and loss and travelled to high mountain huts - what an adventure, and had to sign up!
While Besso seemed scary, I was up for the shorter race, Trail du Roc.
Bring on 3 hours of vert, mountain and glacier views! 🐄
One of the best momments was having a Swiss competitor say “you are the first American to win Tour du Roc, just like Jim is the winner of UTMB” 🇺🇸🏆
Haha, not EXACTLY the same, but I’ll take the complement.
