Tried 14 Burmese dishes from
@littlemyanmar_nyc the other night and wow what can i say…. it whips us out!! Not sure how they manage having 100+ dishes menu in their tiny East Village kitchen but with every food that came out i got more and more excited 🥹
1 — Tea Leaf Salad with fermented ginger, Yellow Noodle Salad with Chicken (get this), Samosa Salad with Bean Soup (surprisingly incredible), Chicken Paratha (must!)
2 — Mohinga/Fish noodle soup (their national dish), Chickpea Tofu Salad, Burmese Pancakes (good!), and Sweet Paratha (doused in evaporated + condensed milk)
3 — King Prawn Curry (🤤), Oxtail Curry, Roti with Potato Curry (get it), and Shan Noodles (think like, Burmese bolognese lol but with pickled greens). Forgot to take pic of the Spicy Shrimp Curry but obviously the king prawn is better…
4 — Coconut Chicken Noodles (i swear this tastes kinda like “mie celor” in South Sumatra, Indonesia except it’s made with chicken instead of shrimp. My fav!)
5,6,7,8 — noodlin’ in action
9 — hungry crew cannot wait to enter
10 — me too 🙂😘
Anyway yes Little Myanmar is what used to be Yun Cafe in Jackson Heights, back when they were still a teeny tiny shop located below street level of the 74th St-Roosevelt Av subway station. Add it to your radar! #eastvillageeats
