My last name starts with M. My mother’s maiden name starts with M. After I got married my mom gave me this towel with an embroidered M on it. Not sure how old it is- from my Mommom or Great Mommom? I only used it a few times because I was scared of staining it or creating a hole in parts of the threadbare fabric. The other day I saw it in the linen closet and decided instead of hiding it away, I would frame it. I bought an old frame, cleaned it, painted the mat and gently placed it in. n. Love. The original laundry room turned kitchen hallway? Not sure what to call this space other than amazing. Almost 2 years to the day I finished part 1- moved the washer and dryer to the room on the other side of the wall, tiled, installed cabinets and butcher block counters. All this time it was missing something. I found this buffet top on fb marketplace for FREE. Painted it Santorini Blue (the happiest blue ever) to match the bottoms and wow. Just wow. Filled it with thrifted finds I already had that were tucked away in cabinets here and there. @oneroomchallenge Fall 2022 in the books! Just a little wallpaper and a lot of paint to do the trick. I decided to keep the light fixtures but updated some frames and artwork. Also switched out the entryway rug and the hallway runner. There was nothing wrong with the before. We painted this area when we first moved in to help make it feel like home. After living here for 6+ years, our home continues to evolve as we do. Adding personality, pattern and little pops of color tells your story. It makes your home you. Don’t be afraid to change things.
