It’s time for happy hour and our resident bartender has a cocktail for you to mix up. Jason O’Bryan (@drinksanddrinking ) has a crowd-pleasing bourbon cocktail to share. The Kentucky Buck was invented by bartender Erick Castro (@hungrybartender ) when he was running the whiskey-focused Rickhouse in San Francisco. He took the old style of cocktail called a “Buck” and created a new refreshing version. Jason likes to make his with homemade ginger syrup, but ginger beer works great too. Here’s the recipe for those mixing at home: Kentucky Buck (ginger beer version) - 2 oz. bourbon - 0.5 oz. lemon juice - 1 strawberry - 1-2 dashes Angostura Bitters - 4-5 oz. ginger beer Muddle the strawberry in the bottom of a cocktail shaker. Add bourbon, lemon and bitters, and shake for six to eight seconds. Strain over fresh ice in a tall glass and top with ginger beer. Garnish with a half strawberry.

For more than 600 years, one of Sicily’s most storied addresses has been adding layers to its identity. Once a wealthy monastery and later a jet-set-era hotel that counted Audrey Hepburn and Oscar Wilde among its glamorous guests, Taormina’s San Domenico Palace has long been a destination for luxury and culture. But this latest era, with its revival last year as a Four Seasons Hotel perched above the glittering Ionian Sea and below the fiery Mount Etna volcano, might be the most exciting. For the last couple months it has become know to fans of HBO's "The White Lotus" as the epicenter of the Emmy-winning dramedy's second season. It’s easy to see why the luxurious 111-room hotel was chosen as the property to follow season one's fictional five-star hotel in Hawaii (Filmed at the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea). Its rooms and suites are spread across two wings: one dating back to the 14th century (some of the monk’s cells have been converted into expanded guest rooms) and one added in 1896 before the convent was converted into one of Europe’s first grand hotels. The new interiors, designed by Naples-based architect Valentina Pisani, blend history with modernity: Marble surfaces, smoked mirrors and bronze details complement a neutral palette that doesn’t compete with the property’s spectacular views. Many of the rooms face the sea and some, like the sprawling 1,500-square-foot Royal Suite, offer terraces with plunge pools overlooking Taormina’s Ancient Greek theater chiseled out of rock. The Lamborghini Huracán Sterrato is ready for its close-up. After months of teases, the Italian marque unveiled the finished production version of its off-road-ready supercar at Art Basel Miami. The final Huracán variant certainly looks the part, but thanks to a host of technical features it can play it too. The Huracán Sterrato is easily the most aggressive version of the model in its eight-year history. The final car looks very close to the rally concept Lamborghini first showed off in 2019. What the automaker’s designers have done is taken the standard Huracán body, lifted it and outfitted it with all manner of off-roading accessories, including auxiliary lights on the nose, roof rails, carbon-fiber fender arches and a set of 19-inch wheels wrapped in custom Bridgestone all-terrain run-flat tires. The biggest change, though, is the addition of a central air intake on the roof, which is there to help the engine breathe in particularly dusty conditions. Aluminum underbody panels also help protect the powertrain and other vital pieces of hardware from anything you might drive over. Are you itching for a supercar you can take for a drive through the dirt and mud? We’d try to get our order for the Huracán Sterrato in quickly. Lamborghini plans to build just 1,499 examples and we expect they’ll be gone soon. US pricing has yet to be announced, but there are expectations it will cost around $270,000. The Peanut Malt Flip has the rich creaminess of holiday nog, but with a healthy helping of Macallan and a dollop of peanut butter to take it to another level. Here’s the recipe for those mixing at home: - 2 oz. scotch - 1 oz. cream - 0.75 oz. simple syrup - 1 tbsp. peanut butter - 1 egg Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker, seal tight, and shake without ice for about five seconds to whip and emulsify the egg. Add ice and shake for 10 to 12 seconds, strain into a large coupe or wine glass and garnish with some freshly grated nutmeg over the top.

St Edward’s Crown is getting a little work done. The historic crown was taken from the Tower of London “for modification work” ahead of the coronation of King Charles III, according to a statement shared by Buckingham Palace. The royal heirloom hasn’t been outside the Tower for some 60 years. St. Edward’s Crown was forged in the 17th century and has been used in the coronation of English monarchs for more than 350 years. As per the centuries-old tradition, the king will be presented with the refitted crown during a solemn ceremony at London’s Westminster Abbey on Saturday, May 6, 2023. A piece of rock ‘n’ roll history, waiting to be dusted off in the New Mexico desert, could be yours next month. Elvis Presley’s 1962 Lockheed 1329 JetStar is going up for auction in early January. Presley bought the red-and-silver-liveried JetStar—then considered the jet of choice for celebrities and CEOs—in 1976 for $840,000, or about $4.4 million in today’s dollars. The jet, with room for nine passengers and three crew, had four engines mounted in two pods at the rear of the fuselage. It had a max speed of 565 mph with a range of about 2,500 miles. Besides the King, the jet would’ve been an airborne home to Col.
