I’m SO excited to put on these @merrell Sky Fire 2s 🔥 and escape the snow for a training challenge I created for myself… the 4 in 4 FKT Challenge 🏃🏽‍♀️💪🏼 Training can be monotonous sometimes (especially when it’s snowed 3 feet this week and I’ve been stuck running inside ❄️) so I actively try find ways to keep it exciting and fun 🥳 Exploring different places and challenging myself help me bring fun into training and the 4 in 4 FKT Challenge is just that- a way for me to explore and push myself! This is the Challenge: I’m headed to California to attempt 4 FKTs in 4 days! It’s going to be lots of vert, lots of views, and lots of fun- I can’t wait!! 35th in the world in the Classic Mountain Championships and 4th as a team!! Humbling is a word I would use to describe Worlds this year. There were SO many fast women here and I’m leaving grateful for the chance to compete at this level for my country but I’m also hungry for more. I’ve learned a ton in these races this week and I’m excited to keep pushing myself and getting better at this sport. 10th place at @mammothtrailfest for the 6th race of the @goldentrailseries !! Top 10 at a Golden Trail Series race has been a goal of mine for a while! Yesterday was SO fun getting out there and competing with some of the most talented and inspiring women on some incredible trails! After this race I moved up from 36th to 20th in the Golden Trail Series World Ranking so I punched my ticket to the GTWS final in Italy! Time to lace up for another race! This time, in the mountains of California! The last regular season race of @goldentrailseries , Mammoth Trail Fest 26k, starts tomorrow at 7 30 am! The Golden Trail Series is a series of sub ultra trail races (this year anywhere from 22k to 42k) all over the world. There are 6 races in the normal season leading up to the final. In each of the regular season races, the top 60 finishers receive points toward their total- 200 points for first place and 2 points for 60th. Points are added up from each athlete’s top 3 races and after the 6 regular season races, the top 30 athletes are invited to the final. This is a motto I try to live my life by because I always want to push my limits whether that’s pushing my limits of learning, challenging myself, being amazed at beauty in life, or having fun. I never want to stop learning or challenging myself. I want to be able to say, “wow, I didn’t think I could do that,” after learning or mastering a new skill. I don’t ever want to put limits on myself on what I can or can’t do. If I can’t do it today, that doesn’t mean I can’t do it tomorrow. I never want to stop being amazed or in awe whether that’s in the magnificence of a mountain, the beauty of a relationship, or in awe of God. I never want to stop having fun. I never want the thrill of life to fade and I never want to stop being grateful for the life I have. Not everything will be fun and there will be times when life is hard BUT there are so many things that can become fun if I frame them in my mind a different way. When was the last time you said wow? 14th up my first fourteener in the 5th stage of the @goldentrailseries !! My number one goal was to have fun (and if you were in my head the night before the race you would know that was a BIG lofty goal with how nervous I was about the race) My performance goals were to be top 20 and run sub 3 hours on this course that was 13 miles of only uphill racing with 7,600 feet of gain I don’t achieve all my goals in every race but yesterday I did! I had SO much fun out on the mountain and I got in a great rhythm climbing. Who you surround yourself with is important! Do those people push you to be your best? Do they encourage you when you’re down? Do they love you even apart from your achievements? Do they do things with you that bring you life? Or do they tear you down? Are they only there for you when things are good or it’s convenient? Are they waiting for you to fail? And for you, are you the person who pushes those around you to be their best? Do you encourage them when they’re down or are you waiting for them to fail? Do you sit with friends in the hard times or do you avoid the hard conversations? Do you bring life to people around you? These are important questions! I’m thankful that the person I’m around the most (Drew ❤️) is the type of person who always loves, challenges, and adventures with me just how I love, challenge, and adventure with him. This type of relationship is a choice every day on both ends and so is every relationship I’m choosing to be in now. I know who I surround myself with WILL shape and mold who I am and how I think and I’ll mold others around me too. That’s huge and it makes me reflect on who I’m morphing into and how I’m changing those around me. 4th place at @cirqueseries A-Basin!! ⛰️🏃🏽‍♀️ I maybe wouldn’t recommend racing at 10,000 feet a day after getting up here but I WOULD 10/10 recommend it if that means racing a Cirque Series Race! The atmosphere at this race was electric, the views were incredible, and the competition was fun and challenging! Hopefully I’ve shaken out the race jitters and I get used to this altitude before I race up a 14er at Pikes Peak next weekend!
