Choosing whether to putt or chip from the fringe is based on the feel you get for that particular shot. In this instance the grass was longer than I would have liked but the collar was rounded and I was wary that a chip might bound forward way past the hole. I chose to putt. We teach lots of students who focused on other sports and activities in their youth who have come to know that golf is a game that can be enjoyed for a lifetime. @bainelle is a perfect example. As a youth she focused exclusively on dance, performing and competing locally and nationally and later as a member of a professional dance company. Now working full time as an athletic trainer, she seeks opportunities to practice and play golf whenever she can. She is also seeing a swing coach. Her background as a dancer has prepared her well to excel in golf.
