Back in Auckland NZ and spending an incredible time with my dear friend, the one and only @chefpetergordon , which I haven’t seen for three!! very long years. Had an inspirational day at his @homeland.nz , a restaurant, cooking school and embassy for Aotearoa and the Pacific. Loved loved loved meeting the team and seeing all the special things that they are doing there. Such an achievement, Peter and Al! Cider battered Moodew paneer taco and paua (abalone) crostini. Wow! Also walked on black sand on Piha beach, a taste of nature after all the crazy travels. Before my event at Tiri Te Kanawa theatre, had lunch at @kingi_britomart , that’s @tom_hishon ‘ s fish kingdom. Endless sustainable fish revelations in the company of Peter and my road warrior friend @aliceinframes Lots and lots…

Kubbeh soup is an all time favourite, and I’m not just saying it. It goes back to my childhood in Jerusalem, but that’s nothing, it’s origins are millennia old, in the area of modern day Iraq. Most likely, it’s been served at a massive banquet for the inauguration of the palace of the Assyrian king Ashurnasirpal II.
