A weekend of celebrations in Jordan, with a surprise wedding location - the only instruction: pack an overnight bag. π€π±
I thought maybe a boat, but the night before we were told it was Wadi Rum also known as Valley of the Moon π - one of the most incredible rock formations in the world.
On Saturday morning we were taken in buses into the desert, until we were told to disembark and hop onto the back of 4x4s to drive through the dunes to the glamping venue aptly called Aladdin Camp β°οΈβΊοΈ
After checking-in to our exotic tents, we headed to the aisle framed by the most incredible rocks and a jaw dropping cloud formation. We watched the beautiful bride walk down the aisle, along with 2 adorable flower girls.
Barefoot, we climbed up a rock to watch a breathtaking sunset π
- I literally felt like I was in a painting. As dusk hit, the camp came alive with fabulous candles illuminating the rocks.
The couple entered on camels, serenaded by Arabic wedding songs.
We feasted on traditional Jordanian food cooked underground in a sandpit just as the bedouins once did.
I indulged in shisha π¬οΈ and danced all night with my new friends.
The bride threw the bouquet which landed in her sister-in-laws hand, and right then her partner dropped to his knee & pulled out a ring. Tears of joy filled everyoneβs eyes and as she said yes, fireworks π illuminated the sky, painting the rocks colourfully. ππ₯π«
Truly a magical weekend, just one of 4 celebrations that weekend, something I will remember forever in my heart. Thank you to the fabulous couple
