My husband and I took a two week break from real life to visit the fabulous Cook Islands. We went to both Rarotonga and Aitutaki. We learned how to say Kia Orana (Maori for hello), pet/not feed the “wandering” #dogsofrarotonga , that roosters are pretty good at hiking and not to swing on vines like Tarzan. 😂 We loved every minute of our vacation. We will definitely be back, especially now that there will be a direct flight to Rarotonga from Honolulu starting in May!
One year ago we moved into our new home. They say it takes one year after building a house to get settled. While we were getting furniture, completing exterior projects and working out any house kinks we also made a lot of memories. From celebrations of all kinds with friends and family to grieving the passing of our sweet bulldog George, this home has been such a wonderful blessing and refuge through it all. With gratitude for 2022, we are looking forward to 2023. 💕
Did you see @oprah ‘s Thanksgiving table? It was so ridiculously gorgeous that I decided next big gathering I was going to go to the flower wholesalers and make a statement centerpiece. At our previous home, our teenage girls helped clear the driveway in the winter. When we started building our new home, they were very upset when the driveway was put in. 😂 They are very happy to just be in charge of shoveling the deck now- especially with the record breaking snow we’ve gotten the last couple of days!

Since this is my first year decorating our new home for Christmas, I’m figuring out what works where. One of our traditions is for the kids to decorate gingerbread houses the day after Thanksgiving. I’m so glad I found a spot for them. I feel like the decorations are just about done, maybe I will just add a wreath? My husband is not a fan of Christmas decor, so I have to decorate slowly and with restraint. 😅🎄🎅

The last month-ish has been crazy full of travel and exciting work projects.
