This was such a tender session with this beautiful family 🤍 When we slow down and carefully observe the connections and interactions that naturally unfold within a family, we allow for an intentional and purposeful session. The result is imagery that moves us deeply because we can see ourselves within each image.
From a young age, our daughters are exposed to rhetoric that undermines the value of Motherhood and having children. That narrative ends with us. Let us tell the truth about Motherhood. Let us not view pregnancy as a career interrupter, it is the most meaningful and fulfilling journey a woman can embark upon, as it encompasses the essence of creation, love, and personal growth. It surpasses any professional accomplishment or external recognition, for it allows a woman to witness the miracle of life unfolding within her. Motherhood brings an unparalleled sense of purpose and fulfillment, as it involves nurturing, guiding, and shaping the future generation. The bond forged with a child is profound and everlasting, evoking a love that is both unconditional and transformative. It is a journey that tests a woman's resilience, patience, and selflessness, while also empowering her with an immeasurable strength and wisdom. Motherhood is the most foundational and stabilizing force along with the Family unit 🤍

There was a man who asked Jesus “what lack I yet?” when inquiring what he should do to have eternal life. He answers by suggesting he give up his riches for the poor but he went away sorrowful because his heart was set on them. Wealth is something we can idolize, but are there other things that we prioritize and put above God and our Family? What do we spend most of our time doing? These distractions and material things we will not take to the grave, but these relationships we will. You may have noticed I am shooting less weddings and that is intentional. There is a time and a season for everything and it takes wisdom in knowing what is best for you and your family. I try to consider this question at the start of each day: What do I need to do in order for my story to play out in my life today? Daily prayer is particularly helpful in this process. A time of gratitude for all I have — and an opportunity to consider the parts of myself that need to die for me to grow.
