I’m not much for candy. I accidentally stumbled on the Hollywood Candy & Vinyl store & pinball arcade thinking it was a antique flea market. I had time to kill before picking someone up at the airport. The pop-culture kitsch decor is almost worth the visit even if you don’t get any coffee, soda or candy. Although some corners have an almost creepy wax museum vibe. Like this corner I caught on camera.

Well, 29th one of these as a teacher 22nd at BV. What I’ve learned; positive leadership makes education a joy, not a chore. Boys can make touching speeches just like girls. Careful not to pull the tassel too hard or it may come off. It’s hard to get a saxophone strap over a mortar board (hat). You can earn thousands in scholarships and still forget which row you were in when you come back from the stage. And of course, once a Bulldog, always a Bulldog.
Just a start, but I’m excited about it. I try to encourage students to take their own pictures to draw or paint, instead of always copying things they see on Pinterest or find in a Google image search. That’s just one more reason we should keep teaching Photography classes even though everyone has cameras on their phones and we don’t use darkrooms anymore. #painting #progress #book
