Looking forward to playing with my brother @jonathankennethbutler again this weekend in Seattle at @jazzalley Thurs-Sunday. This is a clip from the 1st time we played together with the one and only George Duke at the #montreauxjazzfestival in 97’ I was about 26 yrs old ☺️After which Jonathan invited me to join him for my 1st time in his hometown of South Africa to play a huge celebration for the release of Nelson Mandela and the next year after, I went back with Janet Jackson in 98’ on The Velvet Rope Tour and met Mr. Mandela ✊🏾A few years later I recorded Jonathan’s album “Surrender” check that out! It’s a great project. Thank you for the great memories Jonathan! See you soon ☺️

Brought my bday in right this year! Doing what I love with ppl that I love ☺️last year I was suited and booted with a cigar in my mouth 😎 This year I was back to doing what I do, bringing joy to the listeners and at the same time bringing joy to myself and the band and vice versa. This is how I'm used to doing it on my bday, playing good music. And what better way to do it but with my good friend from Philly, and one of the best on piano @orrin_evans along with my brother that I've known for years but never played with him! The one and only @sharayreed along with this bad ass on alto sax @fittedphonic Thanks so much to Dave Jemillo, the owner of this amazing establishment The Green Mill in Chicago where everyone I know has played before (go check it out!) The audience was so respectful and attentive to the performers and were some of the nicest ppl to play for! We gotta come back soon! I'm still smiling ☺️ Special shout out to the soulful @kurtelling for hanging out with us the 1st night and sitting in with us! We had a ball!
