WE PRAYED FOR THIS 😭😭😭 our first home, wow God we THANK YOU! Last year, this was just a desire & a prayer that felt like it was so far fetched. But God gave me a word & showed up and showed out! Seeing my kids run around in our backyard was just 😭😭😭 I have so much to say about this, so much to share about how FAITHFUL He is! Marriage is amazing. It’s beautiful. It’s such a blessing. But life doesn’t begin when you get married. You won’t find everything you want and need in one person. Your spouse will not fulfill your every need and expectations. In fact, they WILL fail you. Just as you will fail them. It’s unrealistic & may I even say unhealthy to think the other person will complete you. The other day while in a heated discussion Oscar told me “You’re trying to pull something out of me that I don’t have to give to you”. In the moment I felt SUPER disappointed. But then I realized his words have so much truth. He can’t give me all that I’m looking for. He’s human. And that’s unfair to expect that of him. I was reminded why it’s God first, then your spouse. I was reminded to run back to the Father. The one who holds my whole heart, where I can find all that I need. I was reminded that though I have an AMAZING husband, & I am truly blessed to be in the marriage we have... he is not everything. Sometimes we can become so consumed with the blessing we forget the rightful place of the one who blessed us in the first place. This was a little #heartcheck I had recently. Who’s really sitting on the throne of our hearts? God first, the rest after. Even the best of things. 💛

Happy New Year, friends!! I’m the kind of person who loves the new year, the reset & the reflection. This year I learned the meaning of finding the joy in chaos & peace that doesn’t make sense. It was a year of great firsts & some low lows. But reflecting through it all, I see Gods hand in it.
