“Living creatures are a work of art.” 🐊 @dr.artsa was at the zoo in Seville, Spain when she pulled out her #Pixel to snap this alligator up close. “My favorite thing is the eyes and how detailed it is. Story time, courtesy of @Vi_chuzz . 🕯🌊 In a small fishing village, a lighthouse stood tall on a rocky cliff overlooking the water - it was an important beacon for fishermen, guiding them to harbor safely in the night. On one evening, the wind howled and the waves crashed against the shore. A small boat found itself in trouble in the thrashing water. The captain struggled to keep the boat from capsizing, and in the distance he saw a faint light. He steered the boat toward the light, navigating the treacherous water and using the light to guide him. After what felt like an eternity, the boat reached the harbor. Breathing a sigh of relief, the captain thanked the lighthouse for saving his life. Some people travel for relaxation, others, for inspiration. 💭 Ed (@edgilardon ) is the latter. “Being a chef makes me creative by nature, but sometimes the four walls of my kitchen do not inspire fresh ideas.” Ed explores the world with the intent of trying new cuisines and finding new ingredients. After learning about the Salt Mines of Maras in Peru, he knew he had to experience the ancient salt ponds for himself and bring some of the mineral-rich 🧂 back to his kitchen. “The mineral content and flavor of this special salt compliments grilled fish and meats beautifully. Fungi or 🧟? For the past year, @Garden_and_cosmos has photographed the subtropical rainforests on the east coast of Australia. It’s been a year unlike any other with unprecedented rain and moisture helping these unique fungi come to life. “It’s difficult to carry heavy camera equipment in wet rainforests so my #Pixel camera became an excellent tool in documenting my forest discoveries. My Pixel could also document location, date and time, etc. which saved me writing field notes for future reference. Normally, I would have brought guides, maps, notes, and much more. Now all this can be done with my phone.” 🔎 For this particular discovery, she used the zoom lens to pick up as much detail as possible. What do you feel when you look at the stars? 💫 @Lsegui21 found himself on the Teide Volcano — the highest peak in Spain — asking this question. First, a wave of calm washed over him, soothed by the peaceful effect of watching stars flicker trillions of miles away. Then Llorenç had another feeling. He realized the magnitude of the universe, compared to the size of himself. It felt good to be small, looking into the greatness of space. As Llorenç took in the night sky, he memorialized the view with his #Pixel. “Thanks to my Pixel and its astrophotography mode, I can take this feeling with me as a memory.” The experience was so rewarding, he wants to visit new places to document the starry sky. It’s golden hour somewhere. 🌅 For years, @redbrickdownunder cycled home from work taking the same route along the Melbourne coastline. His intention was only to get to and from the office. “Then I realized, I had time to stop and take a few photos. Having a phone with a great camera like #Pixel gave me a chance to take excellent photographs without carrying heavy equipment.” Slowing down to photograph the sunset has become a ritual of Mark’s daily commute. “The coastline is very beautiful, and it changes in different weathers and seasons. A few weeks ago, there was a beautiful haze on a still evening. The sun had set but there was a gorgeous afterglow.
