Did you know that Bethlehem still has refugee camps housing thousands of Palestinians who’s families were violently displaced by Zionists in the 1948 nakba. Generations have survived the camps, which are isolated from basic resources like water and road access, are densely populated and subjected to regular Israeli raids, curfews and military lockdowns. Poverty and unemployment can make life in the camps very difficult and this has a traumatizing impact on the thousands of children and youth who live there. So as you prepare your breakfast this Christmas. Do not forget the people of the camps. 🕯
