Yesterday was our Sons first inter school football match and believe it or not was also his first Ever normal match !! From being a non-sporty mumma to listening to all his talks about the diff positions he is given (defender, striker, left back, midfielder , centre forward)- to diff types of kicks he tries-This day was special !!! . But on field what I saw yesterday was not just a bunch of kids who won but the beautiful life lessons they taught me - gratitude,discipline, work ethic, respect and teamwork. . The biggest being making the team win was far more important to them all ,than any individual victories ,helping a player up when he fell , coming back to us excitedly and saying their team won the match instead of their individual score of goals!! . . Little box will run on the honor system. No special library cards. No due dates. No need to leave anything in return.
