We’re pleased to announce the launch of Coalmine Reissues, a new division of the label dedicated to resuscitating indie hip-hop classics for the most discerning of collectors and enthusiasts. Whether it’s an out of print title, or adding new life to a slept on jewel, our aim is to offer a unique and consistent reissue series from the brand that’s been delivering quality hip-hop since 2005! For our inaugural offering, we’re pleased to unveil an exceptional ten year deluxe anniversary reissue of @decamusic ’s modern hip-hop masterpiece, The Ocean. Throughout the album's 12 tracks, Deca guides the listener on a journey through sound and self while exploring topics like dreams, religion, and looking beyond our own little worlds. In light of the milestone, we worked closely with the bard himself in designing a beautifully tailored reissue with his longtime fans and supporters in mind. Limited to just 500 copies, the album boasts a 24pt gatefold jacket with inner panels that Deca created using lyric sheets and sketches from the original rhyme book and dream journals circa the album's recording sessions (swipe left). The front cover is enhanced with spot gloss with gold foil numbering applied to the rear cover. The record is pressed in an ocean blue galaxy configuration with bonus instrumentals and acapellas for "Gabriel Ratchet" and "Breadcrumbs," which until now have not been available in any format. And for the chef's kiss, the album comes equipped with 12pt board obi strips. Special thanks to @jellesmidstudio for the layout redesign.
