🏮Sending everyone warm wishes for a delightful Mid-Autumn Festival! May the full moon bless you with happiness and good fortune.
Mid-Autumn Festival, Zhongqiu Jie (中秋节) in Chinese, is also called the Mooncake Festival or the Moon Festival.
As the second most important festival in China after Chinese New Year, Mid-Autumn is an official public holiday. In 2023, the festival falls on September 29th.
Mid-Autumn Festival is a reunion time for families, a little like Thanksgiving. Chinese people celebrate it by gathering for dinners, worshiping the moon, lighting paper lanterns, eating moon cakes, etc.
It is also celebrated by many other countries, such as America (mainly in the Asian American community), Singapore, and Malaysia. The date is the same as in China, but there is no public holiday.
🥮🥮 Now, who's excited for some mooncakes! Let us know your favouroite flavours below!

After having years of experience working in the food industry, and working with the art of making Teochew noodles, the owner of Chong Fat decided to bring the cherished food craft to Calgary.
They wanted to bring traditional Teochew noodles and recipes so people here can have a taste of home. The owners officially opened Chong Fat in the centre of Chinatown in the summer of 1996.
The restaurant is a typical family-run restaurant, the husband and wife duo wants to ensure everything done is with care and love. To achieve this, they believe that they should do everything themselves. This philosophy is applied to both the food served and the customer service. They believed that they can ensure quality if everything is done themselves. If there is an excessive amount of workers that philosophy may get lost.
Over the last two dozen years, the owners have experienced numerous challenges. Despite these challenges, Chong Fat was able to stay strong and overcome the hurdles. They credit the regulars that frequent the restaurant for keeping them going. The motivation stems from wanting to continue to produce noodles for the regulars and the community.
Their special items include handmade meatballs, cuttlefish balls, and their famous soya duck
Their last day will be September 30 (this saturday!)
We wish the owners all the best in their retirement and thank you for bringing authentic Chao Chow cuisine to our neighborhood.

“@ambient_yyc is a Korean-style café and cocktail bar that is opened late!
They have just launched some new items such as the crosand which is a croffle (croissant waffle) sandwich. We chose the fried chicken cosand with wasabi mayo sauce and it was delicious.
They also launched their Korean-fusion tacos and I’d highly recommend their spicy pork! We also got to try their chicken wings and matcha basque cheesecake.
Everything paired well with a pitcher of their peach Makgeolina cocktail 🍹”
