All year I’ve wanted to prove to students that Art teachers aren’t the only adults who love & make art, so today I snuck into English/Language Arts teacher Johanna Skinnet’s classroom to snap pictures of some of her artwork (without her permission). Give her some kudos next time you see her her ‘cause this girl’s got game! (“Game” being Art skills)

Here’s a #TBT #ThrowbackThursday from 20yrs ago next week! This fell out of a cabinet when I was getting graduation cards ready for Seniors. I have one of these Yearbook Staffer’s kids now as an 8th grader! 5 of these staffers were also cheerleaders. Three were yearbook Editors for ‘03, ‘04 & ‘05 respectively. That was the deck out in “Senior Court” between the old building (c. 1910 or so, replaced in 2005) and the gym and “new” annex (c. 196something) where the FFA room & Campus Care are now. The Art Room was in the basement to the right. Tag yourselves Archive Alumni. Man, my hair used to be that dark?

Last Friday, before celebrities wore he biggest names in fashion on the red carpet at the Met’s Gala in New York, Mrs. PIPPITT’s Eighth grade Science class shone in their best up-cycled trash costumes. These creative students even submitted songs to a playlist and descriptions for emcees and rehearsed their moves for the catwalk, or should we say “dog walk?” Photos by Senior Bianca Palmer #upcycle #recycling #environment
While these two pieces didn’t win anything at the Rolling Valley Conference Art Show, I’d call this kind of an “honorable mention” of sorts. One of the judges & presenters, Catie King works for Croc’s which owns Dudes & she sent a picture of Joe’s orange Dude to her coworkers.
