Feels so fitting to share the opening of Antigone and those powerful words by @inuaellams @regentsparkoat directed by #maxwebster & @jotyabji as we round up the end of this year. Probably the biggest thing I’ve ever had the chance to do, both in terms of the role itself, but also in terms of the socio-political resonances of this adaptation. Not to mention the deeply personal resonances this play came to encompass following a tough bereavement this year. The way art can imitate life boi! The run was far too short, and we never did get to film it or have it archived in any way. But here’s the opening for your viewing pleasure, if you can be arsed to forgo 3 mins of your life 😂 Captured by the inimitable choreographer/movement director extraordinaire @carrieanneing who filmed this on preview one for the purposes of checking the timings of movement with dialogue, and who text me after the show with this video saying “This timing and intention FUCKING perfect” lol.
