Downtime in MN & TN🫶🏼😌🌱🐻
Took some downtime after a solid block of racing and training that I’m very proud of!! I’m also so grateful to be at a point where downtime is chosen and not forced due to injury, burnout, etc. It really affirms that we’re being smart with training and taking care of the little things.
For anyone else who may need these reminders: REST IS PRODUCTIVE. You will not lose all your fitness immediately. You do not need your sport to enjoy your life. You do not need to change the way you treat, nurture, or fuel your mind and body just because your training has changed. Proper downtime is important for the longevity of your career. It’s okay to rest and recover without guilt. Taking time away is good for both your physical and mental health. It is always important to take care of yourself🩵
I often struggle with downtime but this was probably the best I’ve felt doing it in a long time and I don’t think that’s a coincidence. Anyways… time to start up some workouts again and get back to it!! Not that I’m excited or anything🤪
