How rare and elusive are Cross River gorillas? For about 20 years, Inaoyom Imong of @wcsnigeria has worked to protect these gorillas. He’s only seen them in the wild twice. In fact, it’s estimated there are only 300 of these gorillas left. They face threats like poaching, habitat loss, and gene fragmentation. But, there is hope, Imong says.
