Laurels of Madeira | Life is full of surprises, here is one (or two!) again. Kurt Mutchler, my photo editor at the National Geographic magazine, once said “Good pictures have 9 lives” and it seems he may have right… as here you can see my forest images from Madeira appearing for the second time in the magazine in 2022! This time they are published in the December issue dedicated to photography, in a rather unorthodox way, showing a contact sheet of 39 unprocessed images that the editor eventually cut down to 2 photographs to be featured in the May issue previously.

In addition, not only that my image of the Danish forest tower was selected as one of the best photographs of this century, it also made it into the selection of the images of the year and it is also featured in the December issue!
